Influenster

Have you heard of Influenster? Influenster is a program in which you can receive free products for an honest review and possibly influence people to purchase the products. I joined Influenster because, I live for recommending things to people. I like to compare products, find alternatives, give honest reviews and influence. Most of your influencing is done via social media. If you do not like to review products or give your feedback than this program is not for you. I joined not too long ago and upon making my reviews on products I had tried, I was selected for a VoxBox. They will send you an email with surveys to see if you are qualified for the type of Influencers they need to test the products out. I do not really want to get into other specifics, but that is the "jist" of Influenster
.
I wanted to share with you guys my very first VoxBox. This one is called the Fierce VoxBox and it includes the following:

SheaMoisture Argan OIl & Almond Milk Blow Out Crème and Shampoo
SinfulColors Kandee Johnson Nail Polish in the shade Mint Sugar
Madam C.J. Walker Softening & Silkening Brassica Seed Oil
Vaseline Jelly
Carefree Acti-Fresh Regular

Note: I will be updating this blog with reviews and tips on using these products.

As always,
XOXO

Fierce VoxBox. These products were given to me complimentary for testing purposes.

Heavy Duty Skincare Routine

Child is in bed, fiancé is at work, and it's about time I hit shut-eye. But before I do so I like to take advantage of my "alone time" and invest at least 45 minutes on my face.

These are the steps I take when I decide to do this type of routine:

Step 1: Cleanse. Wash your face  with an exfoliator/cleanser. You can do this by using your hands or using a "face brush" to assist you in the cleansing step. Tip: If all else fails use baking soda and coconut oil to exfoliate.

Step 2: Apply a mask. Now this step can easily be skipped but when I do heavy duty skincare I like to make sure my face feels "squeaky clean". I also like to make sure I get unclogged pores during each step. I used Sephora Mud Mask on my t-zone and acne prone areas. You can also multi-mask and target certain areas of your face. Masks should only be done once or twice a week.

Step 3: Tone your face. This step is super important for my skin type. I have VERY OILY skin. I consider myself a "fried chicken" I feel like I just drip oil (eww gross, I know!) I use a DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Toner and a DIY Witch Hazel Toner. You just combine equal parts of product into a container. I use a cotton round and apply ACV first to help shrink my pores and then I use Witch Hazel to balance out my skin and oils.

Step 4: SERUMS! This step/product has quickly become one of my favorites sine 2017 started. I always thought people with oily skin could not use serums, essences, or oils, but boy I was wrong! Now that I am in my mid-twenties, I really want to invest in my face. As they say " You only get one skin, why not take care of it". You can use whichever serum is best for you and your skin type or you can target problematic areas. I am currently using KORRES anti-aging serum. LOVE THIS STUFF!

Step 5: Eye Creams. This is also another step I have quickly learned to love. I never really cared for eye creams until the day I turned a quarter-of-a-century, that's when I really started to notice all my fine lines and crow's feet under my eyes, sad day! So I've been going to Sephora and I ask for samples all the time! I currently love the Origins Ginseng Eye Cream and also Kate Summerville Wrinkle Warrior Serum (not shown).

Step 6: Moisturize. I know it seems like we are just piling up a ton of product onto our faces but the moisturizer is what seals everything together. Make sure you apply a product that is going to hydrate you overnight. Like I said I'm very oily and find myself gearing towards hydration overnight and matte during the day. Moisturizing at night makes your skin wake up refreshed and radiant.

Step 7: Spot Treatment/Target Areas. In other word's Acne Problems! This is where you would apply an spot treatments or facial sprays to finish your routine.
